Never Have to Deal with the Wrong Prescription for Your Glasses Again

Tuesday, January 1st, 2013

If you’ve ever had a problem getting the right prescription for your classes, you know what a hassle it can be. Especially if you have extremely blurry vision, and rely on glasses to be able to do basic things such as drive and read, not having the right prescription can be aggravating. You may have complaints of headaches, feel dizzy, and not be able to concentrate. It’s also a hassle to have to take the time to go into the eye doctor again, get your eyes measured again, and wait for your prescription again.

Once your eyes have stabilized, however, there is a way that you can leave your glasses behind and not have to wear them again. You can have your eyes permanently corrected with LASIK vision surgery. LASIK is a simple procedure that is safe, effective, and has been successful for millions of people.

One of the pioneers in the LASIK procedure is Dr. William Boothe at Boothe Laser Center. Dr. Boothe has performed LASIK hundreds of thousands of times, and is one of the most trusted surgeons in the world. Let Dr. Boothe review your vision, and see if you qualify for the LASIK procedure.

Say Goodbye to Your Prescription Sunglasses

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

Living in a sunny climate is something that many of us dream of. However, if you wear glasses or other corrective lenses, being outside in the sun can make your eyes uncomfortable. Corrective lenses can make your eyes sensitive to glare, as well as wind and blowing dust. You may end up with headaches or strained eyes. You will need to take steps to protect your eyes from bright light when you are outside.

For those with glasses, there are options such as self-darkening lenses, or prescription sunglasses. However, these can add extra expense to the cost of your glasses, and will make it much more expensive to replace them. Having prescription sunglasses means you have to carry around an extra pair of glasses wherever you go. You have to switch them out as you go outside and then inside.

When you get your vision permanently corrected with LASIK vision surgery, this isn’t something you’ll have to worry about again. You’ll be able to wear regular, non-prescription sunglasses once you have clear vision. That means you can buy any sunglasses you want, although it’s recommended that you stick with lenses with 100% UV protection.

When it seems like you have more complaints than positive things to say about your glasses, it’s probably time to consider laser eye surgery to correct your vision. Dr. William Boothe at Boothe Laser Center can help. He and his staff can review the LASIK procedure with you and answer your questions, and can even set up payment plans for you. If you’re ready for permanently clear vision, set up your free consultation today.

Will You Need LASIK Again in the Future?

Thursday, October 18th, 2012

People that have blurry vision know that they must have follow up exams on a regular basis. Most people will have several changes in their prescription over time, though their vision will eventually stabilize. Because of this experience, many people with complaints about their current vision would like to consider LASIK surgery, but they are worried they will need the procedure again if their vision deteriorates.

Generally, there is no follow up procedure required after LASIK. In 2008, 16 million LASIK patients were polled, and 95% of them were happy with their results.

Occasionally, however, patients don’t get the vision they were hoping for after LASIK. In those cases, their surgeon may recommend a second surgery, usually referred to as an enhancement. Remember that it can take several weeks for your vision to completely settle in after your surgery. Generally, your surgeon will monitor your progress for about three months before recommending an enhancement.

It is rare to need a second LASIK surgery to improve your vision. Most patients will be happy with their vision after their first surgery and won’t require any further enhancements. If you have any questions, you can schedule a free LASIK consultation with Dr. Boothe at Boothe Laser Center. This is an opportunity for you to review your concerns, talk to Dr. Boothe about the procedure, and decide if LASIK is right for you.

What are the Risks of LASIK Surgery?

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

When you have any type of surgery, it’s important to remember that there are risks involved. Though the odds are against it, you need to be informed before you make a decision to proceed or not. And LASIK eye surgery is no exception.

LASIK is a relatively simple procedure done on an outpatient basis. The procedure has been around for about twenty years, and newer technologies have perfected it and reduced the risk involved. However, there is still a slight risk of complications which will affect your vision. Currently that risk is less than 1%, which is less than the risk of an eye infection from wearing contact lenses. It is important to remember that most people end up with significantly better vision and there are no documented cases of anyone losing their vision due to surgical complications.

The best way to find out if LASIK surgery could work for you is to schedule an appointment for a free consultation at Boothe Laser Center. Dr. William Boothe will review your medical history and give you an eye exam, and will determine if LASIK is a good option for you. If you are tired of complaining about your glasses or contacts, take action and call for your appointment, today.

The Risks of LASIK Surgery

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

One thing that most people want to know before they undergo LASIK laser eye surgery is if there are any risks involved. It’s natural to want to know, and a good idea to check out before your procedure.

Like any surgery, there are some risks involved with LASIK. However, very few complications ever occur. This is due to the advanced technology that is used in the procedure, and the rigorous screening process. Patients that have illnesses or other problems that may cause complications from LASIK are advised not to undergo the procedure.

Currently, less than 1% of all patients that undergo LASIK have any complications from their surgery. The risks go down even further if you choose to undergo one of the more technologically advanced procedures, such as IntraLASIK or Wavefront Custom IntraLASIK.

In fact, study after study has shown that patients who had LASIK surgery over the last decade have up to a 99% rate of satisfaction, and would recommend the procedure to their friends.

Do you have questions about LASIK? You can review them at Boothe Laser Center during your free consultation. Dr. William Boothe is a pioneer in the LASIK procedure, and has performed more procedures than any other surgeon in the world. Make an appointment for your consultation today.

What You Need to Know About LASIK Surgery

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

If you wear contacts or glasses, you know what a hassle it is. There are the cleaning solutions, soaking, scrubbing, tired eyes, and your vision is never as perfect as it could be.

There is an option to leave all this behind with LASIK surgery. But many people feel uncomfortable about having eye surgery. It’s understandable to be nervous. Here are a few things you should know that will make you feel more comfortable about the idea.

LASIK surgery is an outpatient procedure. There is no pain involved and almost no discomfort. Patients find that they generally see better the day after surgery, and their vision may continue to improve over the next few months. While there is no guarantee of perfect vision, most patients are able to see well enough to pass the vision part of their driving test shortly after the surgery. Many patients will end up with 20/20 vision or better.

There are risks associated with LASIK, just like with any surgical procedure. However, there is a less than 1% chance of complications that will make your vision worse. And no one has ever lost their vision due to the surgery.

While any medical procedure carries risks, you can reduce yours by choosing a qualified surgeon. You want to go with someone with experience and a good reputation, such as Dr. William Boothe. With an experienced surgeon such as Dr. Boothe, complaints are practically non-existent. Dr. Boothe has performed over 121,000 LASIK surgeries, and has an incredible success rate. You can be confident you have one of the best surgeons available correcting your vision.

If you have further questions about LASIK, you can give Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center a call and make an appointment. Dr. Boothe will be happy to give you more information about the procedure and answer all of your questions.

Boothe Eye Center Lasik Surgeries

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012

Dr. William Boothe is one of the first ophthalmologists in Dallas to perform refractive surgery by an iFC Femtosecond laser including IntraLase Enable Keratoplasty (IEK) that provides a high level of surgical accuracy. He is acknowledged as VISX Surgeon of the Year because of his incomparable experience of performing VISX Wavefront laser surgery. Dr. Boothe has treated patients from all over the world as well as patients in the U.S.

Dr. William Boothe of Boothe Eye Center uses an advanced IntraLase femtosecond laser to create a full-thickness corneal transplant. This innovative technology provides the best outcomes in corneal transplantation. Dr. Boothe create precisely shaped incisions on the cornea that allows the transplant tissue to fit together like a puzzle or zigzag. The IntraLase FS Laser is a technological breakthrough in the corneal surgery.
Such optimized design of wound provides:
• Stable graft
• Less number of sutures
• Faster postoperative period and visual healing.

Traditionally corneal transplants were performed using a manual trephine called a “cookie cutter” which makes the incision with a circular blade. Then the corneal tissue lifts up and is replaced by a plug-shaped corneal graft. The trephine surgery with this method usually requires extensive suturing and is associated with several problems. First, the wound doesn’t heal quickly with a vertical cut. Second, the sutures are left in the eye during one year after surgery or longer. Third, after procedure the patient may develop significant astigmatism that lengthens the recovery period.

The IntraLase FS is computer-guided laser and makes the IEK procedure very effective. Dr. Boothe can perform an incision on both the donor and the recipient cornea in a precise patterned manner. Having an interlocking design on the graft is more stable and leads to faster recovery.

The benefits of IEK are:
• IEK requires fewer stitches to keep graft in place
• IEK allows earlier removal of stitches
• IEK provides full vision healing faster
• IEK reduces the risk for displacement of graft and much less astigmatism.

Corneal transplantation procedure with IEK allows Dr. Boothe to help his patients who suffered from corneal injury, degeneration, infection, or inherited corneal disease. The majority of patients with replaced corneal tissue have been satisfied with the outcome.

Dr. Boothe is the best eye surgeon in the whole world!

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

I had my laser vision correction performed in 2007 by Dr. William Boothe. During the pre-op consultation, Dr. Boothe gave me a lot of information, concerning Lasik surgery and as a result I was fully sure of doing it. After the procedure, the staff at Boothe Eyecare and Laser Center did a great job with aftercare and my healing process was very easy. Since then my life has changed for the better and I found a new well-paid job. I can easily do the things which required a lot of effort before, when I was still wearing eye glasses. Now I can drive at night and see numbers on my alarm clock in the morning without first wearing glasses. I thank Dr. William Boothe for making my life simple.

Boothe EyeCare – My astigmatism is gone. What a difference!

Friday, December 10th, 2010

I can see everything much clearer! I had been wearing contact lenses for the last 18 years. I don’t need them anymore, thank god, but I still reach for them every morning. It is so weird. It seems old habits are hard to break. I would like to thank all the staff at the Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center and especially Dr. William Boothe for performing my Lasik surgery. Everyone was very patient with me and made me feel comfortable and confident. If you have astigmatism or nearsightedness I would highly recommend having it corrected, sooner rather than later. The sooner you have your Lasik done, the faster you can get on with life.

Best Regards,
Bryce D.

Dr. Boothe did a great job on my eyes!

Monday, November 15th, 2010

I underwent my laser eye surgery at the Boothe Laser Center a week ago. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, they thoroughly checked me in all stages of the procedure. The procedure itself was quick (I think that the laser is used on each eye for 1-2 minutes) and not painful, which is great! I did feel a bit uncomfortable with my eye wide open and seeing that beam, but then that was expected and Dr. Boothe works so fast that it was done before I had time to think about it. I could tell the difference almost immediately. The next day I could drive my car without contact lenses and had no problems at all! This Lasik procedure is well worth it if you don’t want to wear glasses or contacts for the rest of your life. I have nothing but praise for the staff and service at the Boothe Laser Center.

I will never forget what you have done for me.

Dr. William Boothe cured me of my myopia

Monday, November 8th, 2010

This review details my experience with the Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center in Texas. I had my Lasik surgery done in September 2010 and I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am for everything Dr. William Boothe have done for me. He is a very responsible person, he made sure that I feel fine before, during and after the Lasik procedure. It has been about 6 weeks since I had it done. I cannot believe how simple was the whole process – the actual “surgery” takes a couple of minutes on each eye. His staff is skilled and fast, and they try to minimize the time you need to be in the surgical room. My vision is now 20/20, but I feel it is still improving every day. The price was attractive, especially when I take into consideration the level of service and the vast experience of Dr. Boothe and his staff.

Best Regards,
John F.

I chose Dr. Boothe and his Center because one of my friends used him and his results were spectacular.I didn’t expect to see such a nice office where Dr. Boothe worked. His staff is very friendly. When I was invited to the surgery room, I saw Dr. Boothe. He smiled and introduced himself to me. I had time to briefly scan the room and noticed a lot of neat technology. Boothe is a great man. He did everything to cure my nearsightness and now I can see without contacts and glasses. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Boothe which is one of the reasons why I wrote this review. I have had no complaints since I saw Dr. Boothe in July.
